FMOB - You've spent years boring everyone to death about not being solid enough in midfield, and you want a team like that?

Re: Team v Sunderland
Need to keep the same system, with either Arbeloa coming in for Cresswell, or Antonio going left and Feghouli coming in on the right.

Fancy Zaza to finally notch.

Re: Team v Sunderland
Not heard anything about Arbeloa being injured but then again Carroll was supposed to be back for the Palace game so no news is often bad news when it comes to West Ham treatment room.

Arbeloa may no longer be not quick enough to play wing back but I just hope Slav realises that moving Kouyate back into midfield is not a good move. The partnership with Noble was the root of a lot of our problems in a lot of games I saw as Kouyate really has no role and does little when not in possession. Obiang, Kouyate and Noble together has been a problem in the past too as they all seem to get in each others way and it becomes unclear who is defending who is chasing etc... I like the Noble / Obiang axis much better and do not want to see us waste a midfield spot on Kouyate who Slav never drops to the bench ever.

Ogbonna is not a wing back either. Ferghouli might be able to do a job as he has some pace and can get back but not sure he is the greatest defender. Then again hopefully he will not be doing that much defending. So its him or Nordveidt another who is ill equipped to play as a wing back. So its Fegs for me.

---------------Adrian
-------Kouyate Reid Oggy
Antonio----------------Ferghouli
---Obiang--Noble----Payet
-------------Lanzini-------------
-------------Zaza------------------

Re: Team v Sunderland
I think our squad is capable of putting in 3 or 4 goals past Sunderland despite having no right or left backs available.

Saw some Ayew clips in training yesterday.

Be great to see him in the squad months ahead of what we thought was a long time out.

Spandex. We are due to give someone a good spanking....

Based on what?
Have you been to the games up to the Palace game?
I dont think 1 win entitles us to start thinking that we are going to 'spank' anyone at the London Stadium. Palace thought they were onto an easy 3 points last week and that didn't work out so well now did it.

I think if we go into this gung ho like Watford the wheeels may come off again. More of last week please after all we are playing away again this week

Re: Team v Sunderland
I would say the OP is spot on, provided Arbeloa is fit, but nobody seems to know if that is the case. He wasn't mentioned in the "From the treatment room" on the OS the other day, so I can only assume he is fit. If not, I would put Feghouli in at left wing-back. The formation worked so well that I think we should stick to it. No way did Slav indicate in his presser that we wouldn't - he just didn't want to give anything away to the opposition.

Threat level to TFL raised to severe, attack likely. Take care on saturday.

Re: Team v Sunderland
Interestingly van Aanholt is our injured and he is their only recognised left back, as well as being the only player to score a goal for them this season other than Defoe.

So they could well have a development squad kid starting at LB or a RB moved over, either way Antonio could have a field take roaring into the box. I expect him to win at least three penalties!

Given we have super Pedro Obiang and we are playing Sunderland I would consider Feghouli on the left and fucking really go for it! We are due to give someone a good spanking.

if arbeloa is fit then i would imagine that he will keep the same system and put him as left wingback.

Re: Team v Sunderland
If we go back to 451 it's going to be interesting to see if Antonio get's the nod at right back ahead of Arbeola to accommodate Lanzini on the wing...

If not, then Lanzini in the middle at the expense of Noble Kouyate or Obiang?

Or maybe Kouyate goes centre half with Reid ahead of Collins and Lanzini plays in the middle.

"The formation we played last week was really good for us.It will depend on the players I have for Saturday. Some are quite versatile"

From that Bilic quote at this mornng's press conference it seems he does not rule out doing it again against Sunderland.

said it's not ideal to play that system when you don't have players like cresswell available.

What's he said B?

Re: Team v Sunderland
I think if you're playing wing backs, you really need left footers on the left and vice versa. It's a totally different dynamic to a winger cutting in, you've got more of a job to do.

I'd play exactly that formation Ron, bug FEGS on the left, ANTS on the right.

Trevor B 12:07 Thu Oct 20
Re: Team v Sunderland
From Slavs press conference it sounds like he is going to change the system.
